DESCRIPTION:Sexual Assault Awareness Month\, observed each April\, is a campaign dedicated to raising awareness about sexual violence\, its causes\, and risk factors. It aims to educate communities\, promote prevention strategies\, and empower individuals to take action in creating safer environments. \n\nIn San Diego\, an average of three women are raped each day.\nOne in three women will experience sexual assault in her lifetime.\n91% of rape and sexual assault victims are women.\nIn 80% of rape cases\, the victim knows the perpetrator.\nRape is the most underreported crime—63% of sexual assaults go unreported to law enforcement.\n\nNotMeSD is contributing to Sexual Assault Awareness Month this April by offering a series of training classes designed to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills to enhance personal safety and reduce the risk of victimization. DESCRIPTION:Be a mentor at our SDCGO shooting social. \nBring a handgun (9mm) for the mentee to use\, and walk them through shooting 50 rounds of ammo. \nWe will give a safety brief and you will be randomly assigned someone to work with. \nYou will be given 10-15 minutes to go over the basics on a cold range. (Stance\, grip\, sight picture\, loading\, magazine release\, slide lock etc) \nYou will help your shooter fire their ammunition through your gun. Your goal is to provide a safe\, fun\, and SAFE first-time shooting experience. Again\, most of these shooters have never fired a gun before. We just want to take the mystery out of shooting by giving a safe\, fun\, first-time experience.
