Tactical Communications & Signals Intelligence

Know what is happening while it is happening.
By the time an event hits the news, social media, or even a text alert, it is already over. This one-day course teaches you to monitor, interpret, and act on real-world signals so you are never caught off guard. You will learn to pull situational awareness straight from the airwaves and keep communicating when the usual channels go down.
What you will learn:
- How to monitor radio signals using accessible, affordable tools
- How to identify and interpret the transmissions you hear
- How to filter the noise and judge which signals actually matter
- How to build real-time awareness in an uncertain situation
- How to keep communicating when cell and internet service fail
- How to send encrypted messages over a Meshtastic mesh network, with no cell towers or wifi required
Included with every ticket: a pre-programmed Baofeng UV-5R radio, already set up with local repeaters and FRS channels, yours to keep. An optional Lilygo T-Echo off-grid Meshtastic communicator is available as an add-on.
Prerequisites: none. Just an interest in the topic and a willingness to learn. You do not need to be HAM licensed.
Please bring: lunch. Food is not provided.
