SDCGO Representing Gun Owners at San Diego City Council

Earlier this week, San Diego City Council passed “Eliminate Non-Serialized Untraceable Firearm (ENUF)” Ordinance outlawing non-serialized, unfinished frames and unfinished receivers, and non-serialized firearms within the City of San Diego. SDCGO CEO Wendy Hauffen was present to make a statement before the Council on behalf of SDCGO.

The vote passed 8-1, with SDCGO Endorsed City Councilmember Chris Cate being the lone “no” vote. Chris stated, “This law does nothing to make us safer, but what this law does do is turn all law abiding citizens in San Diego who own unfinished receivers into criminals overnight.”

Thank you Chris Cate for standing up for our Second Amendment rights.

This ordinance will go before the Council for a second reading, most likely in September. Stay tuned to SDCGO’s announcements to find out when.

You may have heard that the US Supreme Court has agreed to hear this case regarding concealed carry. San Diego County Gun Owners, and our sister organizations Orange County Gun Owners and Riverside County Gun Owners, are proud to have an amicus brief in the case!

That means if you’re a member of San Diego County Gun Owners, you’re a part of it too! We cannot do work like this without your support.

Lawsuits are an important part of protecting and restoring your Second Amendment rights. SDCGO is doing our part! Under the guidance of our Second Amendment Attorney John Dillon, we have partnered with the national Second Amendment group Firearms Policy Coalition to help us take the battle to the courtroom.

Will your carry gun work when you need it? Are you sure? Recently I read an article by Greg Ellifritz on the subject. Ellifritz is a retired law enforcement officer (LEO) and is currently an author and trainer. He trains LEOs and civilians through his Active Response Training School. In addition, he writes regularly, and his website is a great source for firearms and Second Amendment related information.
